The dinner church service is about experiencing the amazing grace of God while sharing a meal together, sharing faith together, and sharing the love of God with one another. It is based on the exciting movement happening across the country that is providing free meals and the opportunity for people in low income neighborhoods to experience God’s grace through the sharing of the Gospel around tables.

Circle City Dinner Church seeks to follow the model of Jesus who often shared meals in his ministry. This model of meals was used in the tradition of the New Testament Church’s “Agape” or fellowship meals. Dinner Church offers a no cost meal to those in the community, but it is more than providing a free meal; it is extending God’s unconditional love and grace. Through an abundant meal it seeks to show the abundant Gospel that is extended absolutely to all people. Sharing the Gospel means caring for people’s physical, social and spiritual needs.

Circle City Dinner Church is co-led by Dr. Jim Riley, who is a retired associate pastor of Second Presbyterian Church and formerly the Community Spiritual Director of the Indianapolis Great Banquet, and Debby Riley, who is a retired Indianapolis Public Schools teacher. Circle City Dinner Church is guided by an Advisory Team made up from a diverse group of eighteen members of the Indianapolis Great Banquet.
