A Message from Jim and Debby about the Coronavirus

In whatever way we can at Circle City Dinner Church we strive to demonstrate that Christ’s love is greater than all our fears. Each week our volunteers have given of their time and energy to serve in order to be witnesses of the great love of Christ who through his death on the cross conquered all fear of death.

We  hope to continue to witness Christ’s love even through this time that we are restricted from holding our Wednesday evening service and Tuesday Noon Bible Study. Please pray for those who have been attending our ministry during the next 30 days in which we will not hold our services. We hope to be able to hand out bags of food instead of holding the lunches and dinner meals.

One of the most repeated commands given in the Bible is “Do not fear!” Some have said there are 365 “Fear not”s in the Bible, one for every day of the year. When you add all the other passages that tell us not to worry or be anxious there are much more. My favorite is 1 John 4:18-

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” In God’s protective love we are safe. Whenever we face fear, we can take courage from the wonderful words of Psalm 23- “ Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

What would be the impact of the Christian Community today if we all lived extraordinary lives rejecting fear and living out love to our neighbors? Hebrews 2:14-15 “Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death–that is, the devil–  and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.”

Let’s seek to live a life free of fears and be a witness of Christ’s love to the fearful world!
